AFGHANISTAN’S ART
OF THE NEW
OF THE NEW
The Vernissage Foundation is planning a major exhibition of works by women artists from Afghanistan, targeted for Fall 2005. The exhibition, to be staged in Washington, D.C., and toured to other U.S. venues, will demonstrate in tangible terms the liberation of creativity in post-Taliban Afghanistan. If you or your organization would like to ally with us on Afghanistan’s Art of the New, please .

VERNISSAGE:
1. first showing of an artist’s work;
2. a premier platform for new art work.
2. a premier platform for new art work.
The Vernissage Foundation, Center for International Art Ventures, is dedicated to becoming the premiere platform for the Art of the New, with a focus on emerging artists around the world. Driven by a belief that art exists beyond borders and a passion that art cannot be quarantined by any single culture, Vernissage seeks to cross-pollinate the creative process - sponsoring collaborative works, artist exchanges, and performance events and exhibitions, shifting variables of geography and discipline to bring different cultures into contact. The Foundation will advance its vision through a regular series of events aimed at bringing new art to new audiences. Initially, TVF is focused on several geographic areas - Middle Europe [Prague] and South America [Buenos Aires, Mexico City]) - bringing work from each area to new audiences in Washington, D.C. Over time, the Foundation will expand its model to create broader cultural cross-pollination, involving more countries and encouraging more creative contact between artists of different cultures.
